Cast by hand, from a mould made for the design

Naqesh was registered in 2025. What follows is our own work: a gypsum collection cast from our own moulds, one installed composition, and a furniture scheme in Burma teak. No client is named and no location is given — nothing is published without written consent.

Gypsum ornament

Each design has its own mould. The gypsum is cast and finished by hand, then installed and joined on site so the surface reads as one continuous field.

Hand finishing gives the ornament depth and fine texture. The finished surface accepts paint and specialist finishes, selected for the setting.

Our collection draws from Gulf architectural traditions. We also develop bespoke moulds from a client’s building, an established family motif, or a new pattern designed with them.

A separate catalogue of sizes, applications and lead times is available on request.

Furniture and interiors

Furniture designed for the room, made by hand

We design furniture as part of the interior: proportioned to the room, connected to its architectural details and made to last beyond a refurbishment cycle.

Our specifications favour solid hardwood, cut joinery, carving into the solid, hand-cut marquetry, solid brass, hand-applied finishes, custom upholstery and embroidery.

We do not manufacture. We design, specify, select the right workshop, approve the prototype and inspect the work. Our independence from the workshop allows us to protect the approved standard.

The designs are ours. They are available to commission, and to adapt to a room.

Windows, screens and shutters

Pierced, carved and louvred, in wood or in gypsum, for light, privacy and moving air.

Gypsum ornament

Panels, bands, arches and lattice fields, cast from a mould made for the design and finished by hand.

Furniture and fitted joinery

Majlis and dining seating, tables and occasional pieces, ceilings, niches, cabinetry and panelling.
